Abstract

The R-zone of the aircraft hub is a transition zone where the thickness of structural materials changes,which is prone to stress concentration.The stress concentration part is the origin of cracks,which leads to a reduction in the load-bearing performance of aircraft structural parts and seriously threatens the flight safety of the aircraft.The detection of defects in the R-zone of wheel hubs has always been a hot issue in the field of non-destructive testing.In this paper,array eddy current testing technology is used to detect crack defects in the R-zone of aircraft hubs.By designing and manufacturing crack test blocks in different directions,the array eddy current imaging characteristics are analyzed;Study the changing laws of imaging cracks with different depths and optimize the inspection process parameters.The test results show that when the excitation frequency is 1 MHz,surface cracks in the R-zone with a depth of 0.2 mm can be effectively detected and the defects can be accurately positioned.The research results can be used to guide the engineering practice inspection of aircraft hubs.
