Abstract

To explore the separation law of leaf phenotypic traits in the hybrid offspring of guava,this study conducted a diversity analysis on the genetic characteristics of leaf traits in the hybrid offspring of 8 guava hybrid combinations.The re-sults revealed that the genetic dominance rates of leaf length,leaf width,leaf thickness,and leaf area in the hybrid offspring of guava were all negative,indicating a strong genetic tendency toward reduction.The mean leaf shape index of offspring is mostly higher than the mid-parent value,and the population dominance rate is positive,indicating strong heterosis.The leaf qualitative traits of hybrid offspring were significantly different among different individual plants.However,the leaf shape,color,upper surface smoothness,base shape,and tip shape of the offspring were mainly inherited from the parents,with a population genetic frequency higher than 50%.The Shannon‒Weinner index(Hʹ)of the five leaf qualitative traits in the hybrid offspring ranged from 0.69 to 0.94,and leaf color presented the highest genetic diversity.However,the shape of the leaf tip was relatively poor.The shape of the leaf,the smoothness of the upper surface,and the shape of the leaf base were moderate.These results provide a theoretical reference for the comprehensive evaluation and early identification of excellent fruit traits of guava hybrid offspring.
