Research Progress Decompression Alone and Motion Preserving Surgery in the Treatment of Adjacent Segmental Degeneration after Lumbar Fusion
摘要
Abstract
Postoperative adjacent segment disease(ASD)is a degenerative spinal disease that occurs after lumbar fusion surgery and is characterized by degeneration, instability,or slip of the intervertebral discs adjacent to the fusion segment. This lesion not only affects the physiological function of the spine, but may also cause clinical symptoms such as pain and nerve root compression.Although the exact cause of ASD is not fully understood, natural degeneration of the lumbar spine and fusion surgery are widely believed to be possible triggers. In clinical practice, for patients with ASD who do not respond to conservative treatment, surgery is often required to alleviate symptoms.Traditional posterior lumbar decompression and fusion surgery is a common method for the treatment of ASD.However, with the continuous progress of minimally invasive spinal surgery technologies, such as decompression alone, motion preservation surgery and other minimally invasive technology, have gradually become the first choice of many doctors because of their advantages of less trauma and faster recovery. This article reviews the current surgical revision strategies for ASD after lumbar fusion.关键词
