A Setting Method of Low Excitation Limit of Fast Dynamic Response Synchronous Condenser

Abstract
With the rapid development of UHV DC power grid,the fast dynamic response synchronous condenser plays an increasingly important role in supporting the transient reactive power of the power grid.Some condensers not only provide transient reactive power support in case of faults,but also gradually begin to undertake steady-state reactive power regulation tasks according to dispatch instructions.Because of the lack of coordination between condensers and the reactive power control system of the converter station,a coordination problem between loss of excitation protection and low excitation limit may lead to the act of loss of excitation protection when a condenser operates near the reactive power boundary of steady-state and the AC filters of converter station put into operation,conduct to the subtransient state effect of condensers and the voltage regulation effect of the excitation system.This paper analyzes the differences of loss of excitation protection and low excitation limit between fast dynamic response synchronous condenser and traditional generator,and analyzes the coordination relationship between the two.A setting method of low excitation limit of fast dynamic response synchronous condenser is proposed,and verified through case analysis and simulation.关键词
