Implementing"Bamboo as a Substitute for Plastic"in Yibin City,Sichuan Province:Effectiveness and Suggestions

Abstract
Yibin city in Sichuan province is one of the areas with the richest bamboo resources in China and the core of the bamboo industry cluster in southern Sichuan.Since 2018,Yibin city has vigorously promoted the development of the"bamboo as a substitute for plastic"industry,aiming to drive the high-quality development of the bamboo industry through the comprehensive implementation of the"bamboo as a substitute for plastic"initiative.The paper summarizes the main practices and achievements made in the development of the"bamboo as a substitute for plastic"industry in Yibin city,points out the main problems,and puts forward the countermeasures for future development,with the aim at accelerating the development of the"bamboo as a substitute for plastic"industry and providing the experience and insights that can be drawn on for other regions.With the efforts for more than 6 years,Yibin city has created a development path of"bamboo as a substitute for plastic"with Yibin characteristics and achieved positive results in policy-making,introduction and cultivation of enterprises,scientific and technological innovation,and construction of demonstration counties.However,the city is still challenged by poor public awareness of environmental protection,incomplete chain of processing industry,insufficient publicity and guidance,and shortage of investment in research and development.To this end,Yibin city should increase the science popularization and publicity,create a good social atmosphere as soon as possible,improve the"bamboo as a substitute for plastic"industry chain,enhance the institutional mechanism for promoting the development of"bamboo as a substitute for plastic",increase scientific and technological investment,and accelerate the formation of new productive forces for"bamboo as a substitute for plastic".关键词
