摘要

Abstract

The experiment aimed to investigate the immunomodulatory effect of passion fruit polysaccharides on the intestinal mucosa of Salmonella-infected ephedra chicks.A total of 24 healthy seven-day-old spotted-brown chicks were randomly divided into three groups:A normal control group,an infection control group,and a passion fruit polysaccharide group,with eight replicates in each group and one chicken in each replicate.The passion fruit polysaccharide group was gavaged with a passion fruit polysaccharide solution for five days and then orally infected with Salmonella.After 24 hours of infection,the duodenum was collected for immune marker detection and histological observation of tissue changes.The results showed that compared with the infection control group,passion fruit polysaccharide group significantly increased the levels of immunoglobulin G(IgG)and secretory immunoglobulin A(SIgA)in the duodenal wash fluid(P<0.05),slightly increased the levels of mucin 2(MUC2)and trefoil factor(TFF),and significantly alleviated the intestinal mucosal epithelial structural damage induced by Salmonella.There were no significant differences in the immune organ index,serum glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px),and total superoxide dismutase(T-SOD)activities between the normal control group and passion fruit polysaccharide groups(P>0.05).The study indicates that passion fruit polysaccharides can improve Salmonella-induced enteritis by promoting the secretion of intestinal immunoglobulins.
