摘要

Abstract

The somatotype characteristics of Dong adults in Hunan and Guizhou were studied using the Heath-Carter method.Ten indexes including body mass and height of 634 Dong adults(247 males,387 females)in Hunan and 951 Dong adults(333 males,618 females)in Guizhou were measured,and the three somatotype values were calculated and compared with other eth-nic groups.The results showed that,males of Dong in Hunan were endomorph-mesomorph,males of Dong in Guizhou were en-domorphic mesomorph,females of Dong in Hunan and Guizhou were endomorph mesomorph.The t-test showed that the soma-totype difference between genders in each age group of Dong in Hunan was statistically significant.Except for the 45-59 year-old group,the somatotype difference between genders in other each age group of Dong in Guizhou was statistically significant.Compared with other ethnic groups,the endomorphy values of Dong in Hunan and Guizhou were at a high level,the mesomor-phy values were at a medium level,and the ectomorphy values were at a low level.The somatotype characteristics of Dong in Hunan and Guizhou were similar to that of Dai,Lingao and South Han,and had the characteristics of southern ethnic groups.
