Biomass Model Establishment and Ecological Stoichiometric Characteristics of Pyracantha fortuneana in Hilly Areas of Central Sichuan,China

Abstract
The biomass of plants is a reflection of the productivity and carbon sequestration capacity of eco-system producers.Studying the C,N,P content of plants and the relationship between C/N,C/P,N/P can reflect their adaptabilities to environmental changes,which is conducive to studying the carbon sequestra-tion and sink enhancement mechanisms of plants under global climate change and national"dual carbon"(carbon peaking and carbon neutrality)goals.This study focused on Pyracantha fortuneana,a typical shrub species in the hilly area of the Sichuan Basin.By setting up sample plots and using the whole plant harvest method,the biomass of 32 standard P.fortunei plants,including stems,roots,branches,fruits,and other organs,was collected.The plant volume V was used as the independent variable for the estimation model.Curve fitting was performed by Origin 2018 software to establish the optimal estimation model for the biomass of various organs and whole plant of P.fortunei.The correlations between C,N,P contents,C/N,C/P,N/P ratios,and various elements were analyzed.The results showed that 1)the biomass amounts of branches accounted for 34.53%of the total,and that of roots accounted for 33.64%of the to-tal,relatively higher than other organs.The biomass of the aboveground part was significantly higher than that of the underground part,accounting for 66.36%of the total.2)Parameters such as plant height(H),ground diameter(D),crown area(CA),D2H,plant volume(V)were strongly correlated to total bio-mass,and biomass of various organs(P<0.01),in which the correlationship of V was the highest,indica-ting V is suitable to be selected as the independent variable in the regression equation.3)Except for the fruit,the optimal biomass models for each organ and whole plant were power functions,with R2 values of 0.907,0.875,and 0.858 for the stem,aboveground,and whole plant,respectively.The fitting effect of the fruit was not satisfactory,and the optimal model was quadratic polynomial with R2 of 0.554.4)The aver-age contents of N,P,and C elements in various organs and the whole plant were relatively low.The utiliza-tion efficiency of the stem to N and P was the highest,the branches had the lowest utilization efficiency to N,and the lowest for the fruit to P.The growth of stems,branches,and roots was limited by P,while the growth of fruits was limited by N.关键词
