Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of functional electrical stimulation(FES)system therapy on the recovery of upper limb motor function in stroke patients.Methods 40 patients with stroke and upper limb dyskinesia admitted to the department of rehabilitation medicine of our hospital from February 2023 to February 2024 were selected and randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group,with 20 cases in each group.Both groups received routine rehabilitation treatment.In addition,the experimental group was treated with upper limb functional electrical stimulation(FES),twice a day,5 days a week for 3 weeks.Before treatment and 3 weeks after treatment,the upper limb motor function of the two groups was evaluated by FMA-UE score,and the daily living ability of the two groups was evaluated by MBI score.Results Before treatment,no significant difference was found in FMA-UE score and MBI score between the two groups(P>0.05).Compared with those before treatment,FMA-UE score and MBI score of the two groups were improved after 3 weeks of treatment(P<0.05);after 3 weeks of treatment,the FMA-UE score of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05),while the MBI score was not significantly different between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions On the basis of conventional rehabilitation therapy,the use of FES system is more conducive to promoting the recovery of upper limb motor function in stroke patients.
