The Effect of Different Nutritional Levels of Diets on the Production Performance of Camels

Abstract
To explore the effects of different nutritional levels of diets on the production performance of camels.Thirty healthy Bactrian camels from a camel breeding base in Xinyuan County,Ili Prefecture,Xinjiang were selected as experimental animals,randomly numbered and divided into two groups according to the number table method.The control group was fed with conventional basic diet,while the experimental group was supplemented with 2% sunflower,5% soybean meal,and 2 000 IU/mg of complex vitamins in addition to the basic diet.The experimental period is one month.The average daily milk production of the experimental group camels was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05),and the feed to milk ratio was significantly lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).The protein content and lactose content of camel milk in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05),while the milk fat content was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).The incidence of mastitis and the number of somatic cells in the milk of the experimental group were significantly lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).Adding 2% sunflower,5% soybean meal,2 000 IU/mg complex vitamins to the basic diet can significantly improve the production performance of camels and reduce the incidence of mastitis.This provides reference value for the scientific and rational feeding of bactrian camels in Xinjiang and the development of the camel industry in Xinjiang in the future.关键词
