Intergenerational Transmission of Disability Public Stigma:The Mediating Role of Conversation Oriented Communication Pattern and Moderating Role of Family Care

Abstract
Objective:In order to explore whether the public stigma of disability between parents and children is trans-mitted between generations,and to investigate the relationship and mechanism between public stigma of disability,parent-child communication patterns,and family caring degree.Methods:A total of 1973 primary and secondary school students and their parents were investigated using the attribution questionnaire-9,children's attribution questionnaire,revised fam-ily communication patterns and family APGAR index.Results:(1)Parents'disability public stigma had a significant posi-tive predictive effect on children's disability public stigma,and there was an intergenerational transmission effect of disabil-ity public stigma;(2)Conversation-oriented communication pattern played a partial mediating role on the intergenerational transmission of disability public stigma;(3)The family caring degree regulated the relationship between parents'public stigma of disability and conversation-oriented communication pattern,resulting in a moderated mediating effect between parents'public stigma of disability,conversation-oriented communication pattern and children's public stigma of disabil-ity.Conclusion:Parents'public stigma of disability directly predicts children's public stigma of disability,and the conversation-oriented communication pattern serves as a mediator between the parents'disability public stigma and the children's disability public stigma,while family caring has a moderating effect on the mediation pathway.关键词
