Use of Suppression and Expression of Middle School Students'Academic Emotions in the Presence of Others with Varying Degrees of Intimacy

Abstract
Objective:The differences in the use of suppression and expression of middle school students'academic emotions in the presence of others with varying degrees of intimacy were investigated.Methods:An experimental sampling method was used to measure the strongest positive and negative academic emotional states experienced by 84 middle school students at each sample point and the strategies they used to regulate academic emotions in the presence of others with dif-ferent intimacies within ten working days.Results:①No significant difference emerged in the use of emotional suppression and expression in the presence of others with different degrees of intimacy;②When students experienced positive academic emotions,they used emotional suppression more in the presence of intimate others;Students who experienced negative aca-demic emotions were less likely to use emotional suppression in the presence of intimate others.Conclusion:The interac-tion between the presence of others with varying degrees of intimacy and academic emotions had a significant effect on the use of suppression and expression of middle school students'academic emotions.关键词
