The Relationship between Online Sexual Objectification Experiences and Body Image Depression of College Students:The Mediating Effect of Self-objectification and the Moderating Effect of Sex is Power Belief

Abstract
Objective:To investigate the relationship between online sexual objectification experiences(OSOE)and body image depression(BID),as well as the mediating role of self-objectification(SO)and the moderating role of sex is power belief(SIPB).Methods:A total of 710 college students were surveyed with the online objectification experience questionnaire,the body image depression questionnaire,the body consciousness scale for college students and the sex is power scale.Results:①There were significant positive correlations among OSOE,SO,SIPB and BID.②SO partially medi-ated the relationship between OSOE and BID.③SIPB moderated the relationship between SO and BID.That is,with the in-crease of the SIPB,the positive predictive effect of SO on BID increased.Conclusion:SO can mediate the relationship be-tween OSOE and BID,and the SIPB can strengthen this process.关键词
