The Relationship Between Sexual Orientation Concealment and Gay Men's Subjective Well-being:The Mediation Mechanisms of Expression Inhibition and Authenticity

Abstract
Objective:To investigate the relationship between sexual orientation concealment and subjective well-being among gay men and the mediation mechanisms of expression inhibition and authenticity.Methods:The sexual orientation concealment scale,expression inhibition scale,authenticity scale and subjective well-being scale were used to measure 323 gay men.Results:Sexual orientation concealment was significant negatively correlated with subjective well-being.The me-diating effect of authenticity between sexual orientation concealment and subjective well-being and the sequential mediat-ing effect of expression inhibition and authenticity between these two were both significant.Conclusion:Sexual orientation concealment may reduce the subjective well-being through increasing expression inhibition and lowering authenticity among gay men.关键词
