The Influence of Helicopter Parenting on Personal Growth Initiative among College Freshmen:A Longitudinal Moderated Mediation Model

Abstract
Objective:To explore the impact of helicopter parenting on college freshmens'personal growth initiative and its mechanism.Methods:A one-year follow-up survey with three waves was conducted among 548 freshmen using personal growth initiative scale,consolidated helicopter parenting scale and general self-efficacy scale.Results:(1)T1 he-licopter parenting had a significant negative effect on college students'T3 personal growth initiative;(2)T2 general self-efficacy played a mediating role in the relationship between T1 helicopter parenting and T3 personal growth initiative;(3)Gender moderated the relationship between T1 helicopter parenting and T2 general self-efficacy.Conclusion:Helicopter parenting can not only directly affect the personal growth initiative of college freshmen,but also indirectly affect it through the mediating effect of general self-efficacy.关键词
