The Effect of Positive Parenting Style on College Students'Learning Engagement:The Mediating Effect of Future Self-Continuity and Self-Control

Abstract
Objective:To explore the impact of positive parenting style on college students'learning engagement,as well as the mediating effect of future self-continuity and self-control in this relationship.Methods:Short-egna minnenav barndoms uppfostran for Chinese,Utrecht work engagement scale-student,future self-continuity questionnaire,dual-mode of self-control scale were used to investigate 1782 college students.Results:(1)There was a significant positive relation-ship(r=0.324~0.497,P<0.01)between positive parenting style,learning engagement,future self-continuity and self-control;(2)Positive parenting style had a direct effect on learning engagement(β=0.149,P<0.001);(3)Future self-continuity and self-control played a separate mediating effect and a chain mediating effect respectively between positive parenting style and learning engagement,with a total intermediary effect size of 58.73%.Conclusion:Positive parenting style not only affects learning engagement directly,but also indirectly through future self-continuity and self-control.关键词
