Efficacy and Safety of Botulinum Toxin Type A Combined with Micro-plasma Radio-frequency technology in Neck Rejuvenation Treatment

Abstract
Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of combining botulinum toxin type A with micro-plasma radio-frequency technology in neck rejuvenation therapy.Methods A total of 44 patients from Xuzhou Municipal Hospital Affiliated to Xuzhou Medical University from September 2023 to February 2024 seeking improvement in neck lines,laxity,and cervicomental angle were selected and randomly divided into an observation group and a control group,with 22 patients in each group.The observation group received neck injections of botulinum toxin type A,followed by two sessions of micro-plasma radio-frequency treatment at 6-week intervals starting 2 weeks after injection.The control group received only neck injections of botulinum toxin type A.At the 12-week mark of treatment,the effects were assessed in both groups,including cervicomental angle scale(CAS),Brandt neck aging grade,Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale(GAIS),and Visual Analog Scale(VAS)pain score.Adverse reactions such as subcutaneous bruising,pigmentation,and persistent erythema were also recorded.Results Post-treatment,both groups showed significant improvements in CAS grades and Brandt neck aging grades(P＜0.05).The observation group showed greater improvement in Brandt neck aging grade and GAIS score compared to the control group(P＜0.05).However,the observation group had a higher VAS score than the control group(P＜0.05),indicating greater pain due to plasma treatment.Adverse reactions were mainly mild,including subcutaneous bruising,pigmentation,and persistent erythema,all of which resolved within one month.No serious complications such as facial asymmetry,swallowing difficulty,or infection were observed,and adverse reaction rates showed no significant difference between groups.Satisfaction was higher in the observation group(21/22)than in the control group(15/22),with statistical significance(P＜0.05).Conclusion The combination of botulinum toxin type A with micro-plasma radio-frequency technology shows significant efficacy in neck rejuvenation,effectively improving neck lines,laxity,and cervicomental angle with high safety.关键词
