Impact of green finance development on industrial capacity utilization

Abstract
Against the backdrop of China's current supply-side structural reform,improving industrial capacity utilization is crucial for the country's promotion of new quality productive forces and achievement of sustainable and efficient economic growth.In the pursuit of a low-carbon economy and green transformation,examining the impact of green financial policies on industrial capacity utilization war-rants academic attention.Based on China's provincial panel data from 2011 to 2020,this study constructed an analytical framework and adopted the spatial panel model to empirically examine the impact of green financial development on industrial capacity utilization.The results showed that:① Green financial development significantly improved regional industrial capacity utilization and generated a posi-tive spatial spillover effect on capacity regulation in neighboring regions,though this capacity enhancement effect showed a fluctuating but gradually decreasing trend over time.② The mechanism test showed that green finance could improve industrial capacity utilization through industrial structure optimization and green technology innovation,further supporting the Porter Hypothesis.③ The spatial spill-over effects of green finance on industrial capacity utilization rate existed only within a radius of approximately 2 000 km,peaking at distances around 500-900 km.Moreover,these spatial spillover effects exhibited characteristics of boundary effects and geographic at-tenuation.Therefore,efforts should be made to improve the green financial system,innovate green financial instruments,and attract pri-vate capital for green investments.It is essential to promote interregional cooperation in green technology innovation,optimize industrial structure,promote industry chain synergy and technology spillover,and strengthen environmental regulation standards.Region-specific policies should be formulated to enhance cross-regional collaboration,break down regional barriers,and facilitate resource flow,thereby fully leveraging the role of green finance in supporting efficient industrial development and promoting long-term industrial green trans-formation.关键词
