Security and stability of China's industrial and supply chains embedded in the global value chain:from the perspective of AEO impact

Abstract
The accelerated restructuring of the global value chain has brought significant challenges and created new circumstances for the secure and stable development of the industrial and supply chains.In the context of adverse shocks and volatility risks,ensuring the security and stability of China's industrial and supply chains embedded in the global value chain has become an important issue that urgently needs to be addressed in the current Chinese economy.From the perspective of AEO(Authorized Economic Operator)im-pact,this study theoretically explored the formation paths of the security and stability of China's industrial and supply chains embedded in the global value chain,empirically analyzed the existence of local market effects on the security and stability efficiency of China's in-dustrial and supply chains,and further tested its formation mechanisms.The results showed that:① From a spatial dimension,the secu-rity and stability of the industrial and supply chains embedded in the global value chain exhibited significant local market effects.② Heterogeneity analysis showed that the local market effects of the security and stability of China's industrial and supply chains ex-hibited heterogeneity.From the perspective of different countries,the implementation of AEO certification in OECD countries signifi-cantly reduced the time and cost of cross-border import trade,resulting in clear competitive advantages and specialization effects and strong local market effects.Expanding AEOs and deepening trade with middle-income countries was more conducive to improving the security and stability of China's industrial and supply chains.③ The impact mechanism analysis showed that,compared with AEO cer-tification,AEO mutual recognition reduced the cross-border trade time and had no significant impact on cross-border trade costs,while the coefficient value and significance of control variables increased.Additionally,AEO certification for SMEs increased both the time and costs of cross-border export trade.④ The mechanism test showed that AEO expansion could promote the security and stability of China's industrial and supply chains embedded in the global value chain through two paths:endogenous growth effect and diffuse climb-ing effect.Based on these findings,this study proposes that China should leverage its large-scale market advantages and further tap the influence potential of AEO.Taking into account the heterogeneity of local market effects in the security and stability of China's industri-al and supply chains,we should adopt targeted advantage cultivation policies.Furthermore,the security and stability of China's indus-trial and supply chains embedded in the global value chain should be ensured by leveraging the spreading effect of AEO expansion.关键词
