摘要

Abstract

To understand the prevalence of ovine piroplasmosis in Tibetan sheep in Shigatse City,Tibet Autonomous Region,366 blood samples from Tibetan sheep were collected,and genomic DNA was extracted.Nested PCR was used to detect and identify the pathogens of ovine piroplasmosis.Additionally,a phylogenetic tree was constructed based on the 18S rRNA gene sequence of piroplasma.The results showed that the piroplasma infection rate was 35.79%(131/366),with the prevalence of Theileria ovis in sheep being 35.25%(129/366)and the prevalence of Theileria annulata being 0.55%(2/366).The phylogenetic tree revealed that Theileria ovis from this region clustered with strains from Xinjiang,China(GenBank:FJ603460),Turkey(GenBank:AY260172),and Sudan(GenBank:AY260171)in the same branch.Theileria annulata clustered with strains from Italy(GenBank:MT341858),Turkey(GenBank:524666),and Inner Mongolia,China(GenBank:EU083801)in the same branch.This study is the first to report the presence of Theileria ovis in Tibet,providing valuable data for the epidemiological survey and integrated prevention and control of ovine piroplasmosis in the region.
