The Level and Significance of Serum β-CTx and P1NP in Patients with Osteoporotic Spinal Fracture

Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical significance of serum β-CTx and P1NP levels in patients with oste-oporotic spinal fractures.Methods A total of 109 patients with osteoporosis admitted to the Dongcheng Branch of the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University from July 2018 to February 2023 were selected as the study subjects.Among them,52 patients with spinal fractures were assigned to group A,and 57 patients with simple osteoporosis were assigned to group B.Additionally,50 healthy individuals were selected as the control group.The baseline characteristics and serum levels of β-CTx and P1NP were compared among the three groups.Results The serum β-CTx levels in group A were significantly higher than those in group B and the control group at the time of treatment and at 3,6,and 12 months after treatment(all P<0.05).There was no significant difference in serum P1NP levels between group A and group B at the time of treatment and 3 months after treatment(all P>0.05).The serum P1NP levels in group A at the time of treatment and 3 months after treatment were significant-ly lower than those in the control group.Furthermore,the serum P1NP levels in group A at 6 and 12 months after treatment were significantly lower than those in group B and the control group(all P<0.05).Conclusion The serum β-CTx levels in patients with osteoporotic spinal fractures are significantly higher than those in patients with simple osteoporosis,while the serum P1NP levels are significantly lower.These findings can be used for the prevention and treatment of osteoporotic spinal fractures.关键词
