Efficacy of Thymosin Combined with Ipratropium Bromide Aerosol Inhalation in Treating COPD with Severe Pneumonia and Its Influence on Peripheral Blood PYX-3,Eotaxin-2,and sTREM-1 Levels

Abstract
Objective To explore the efficacy of thymosin combined with ipratropium bromide aerosol inhalation in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)with severe pneumonia.Methods 200 patients with COPD and severe pneumonia admitted to the department of respiratory medicine of our hospital from January 2020 to June 2023 were enrolled in the study.All patients were divided into a routine group(odd number,n=100)and a combined group(even number,n=100)ac-cording to the odd-even number method.The patients in the routine group were treated with ipratropium bromide aerosol inhalation at a dose of 2 mL/time for twice a day,and on this basis,the patients in the combined group were treated with thymosin injection at a dose of 60 mg/time for once a day.Both groups were treated continuously for 10 days.The clinical efficacy,symptom improvement time,arterial oxygen partial pressure,and inflammatory indicators were compared between the two groups.Results The effec-tive rate of treatment of patients in the combined group was significantly higher than that in the routine group(P<0.05).The symp-tom improvement time and hospital stay were significantly shorter in the combined group than those in the routine group(P<0.05).After treatment,PaO2 and oxygenation index in the two groups were significantly increased(P<0.05),while PaCO2 was signifi-cantly decreased(P<0.05).PaO2 and oxygenation index in the combined group after treatment were significantly higher(P<0.05),while PaCO2 was significantly lower compared to the routine group(P<0.05).After treatment,the levels of PYX-3,eotaxin-2,sTREM-1,and CRP were significantly reduced in the two groups(P<0.05),and the combined group had significantly lower lev-els(P<0.05).Conclusion Thymosin combined with ipratropium bromide aerosol inhalation can significantly improve the oxygen partial pressure and reduce the in-flammatory response in patients with COPD complicated with severe pneumonia.关键词
