The Effect of Methylprednisolone Sodium Succinate Combined with Surgical Treatment on Motor Function and Neuroinflammation in Patients with Acute Spinal Cord Injury

Abstract
Objective To explore the effect of methylprednisolone sodium succinate(MPSS)combined with surgical treatment on motor function and neuroinflammation in patients with acute spinal cord injury(ASCI).Methods A total of 100 patients with ASCI admitted to Xishan People's Hospital of Wuxi City from January 2020 to December 2023 were selected as the research subjects.They were randomly divided into a control group(treated with surgery only)and an experimental group(treated with MPSS combined with surgery).The changes in neurological function and inflammatory factors of the two groups of ASCI patients after treatment were compared.Results There were no statistically significant differences in the sensory and motor function scores of spinal cord injury nerves between the control group and the experimental group before surgery(P>0.05 for all).Three months after surgery,there were statistically significant differences in the sensory and motor function scores of spinal cord injury nerves between the two groups(P<0.01).One week after surgery,the level of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)in the experimental group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.01).There was no statistically significant difference in TNF-α levels between pre-and post-operation in the control group(P>0.05),while there was a statistically sig-nificant difference in TNF-α levels between pre-and post-operation in the experimental group(P<0.01).Conclusion MPSS combined with surgery for the treatment of ASCI can effectively inhibit the release of pro-inflammatory factors and reduce the neuroinflammatory response.It has significant advantages in the treatment of ASCI.关键词
