摘要

Abstract

Most stairs at subway entrances and exits are long straight stairs with multiple buffer platforms.Pedestrian evacuation on these stairs has different characteristics from horizontal evacuation and general stair evacuation.The paper studies long straight stairs with multiple buffer platforms in subway stations.Based on measured data and pedestrian movement characteristics,the evacuation of pedestrians in such stairs is analyzed.Pedestrian evacuation simulations are carried out using Pathfinder software.The results show that in normal operation,separating pedestrian flows up and down effectively reduces evacuation time for high-density crowds.In emergency escape scenarios,wider stairs can significantly improve evacuation efficiency in densely populated areas.
