Abstract

Aiming at the problem of the small particle size of niobium-rich minerals(calciobetafite)during the phase reconstruction process of Bayan Obo niobium rougher concentrate and difficult sorting,the growth behaviors of calciobetafite at different temperatures were studied for designing the technological parameters.The isothermal growth behavior of calciobetafite at 1 140℃to 1 245℃with time extension was studied by using the high-temperature quenching method.The results show that the calciobetafite does not crystallize when the temperature is at 1 245℃and the time 3 h.And hematite,pseudobrookite crystallize before the formation of calciobetafite.When the temperature decreases from 1 230℃to 1 140℃,the crystalline fraction of calciobetafite gradually increases,while the maximum equivalent diameter of calciobetafite decreases.Additionally,with the increase of temperature,the incubation time required for the initial nucleation of calciobetafite also increases.The temperature from 1 200℃to 1 230℃is beneficial to the growth of calciobetafite,and the temperature from 1 140℃to 1 170℃is conducive to the nucleation.Increasing the holding time at 1 230℃during the cooling process is beneficial for achieving a high maximum equivalent diameter of calciobetafite(98.01 μm).
