Abstract
Objective To explore the effect of traditional Chinese and western medicine nursing strategies on improving the symptoms associated with neck and shoulder pain in patients with cervical spondylotic radiculopathy. Methods Ninety patients with neck and shoulder pain caused by cervical spondylotic radiculopathy were recruited from Guangdong Second Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital between June 2019 and July 2023.They were divided into two groups using a random number table, with 45 patients in each group. The control group received western medicine nursing, while the observation group additionally received traditional Chinese medicine nursing. The intensity of neck and shoulder pain, cervical dysfunction, cervical spine range of motion, negative emotions, and nursing effectiveness were compared between the two groups. Results After 15 days of intervention, the scores of the Visual Analogue Scale(VAS),Neck Disability Index(NDI),Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale(HAMA),and Hamilton Depression Rating Scale(HAMD)of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, and the ranges of motion of cervical lateral flexion, rotation, flexion, and extension were higher than those of the control group(all P<0.05).The above indicators and scores of both groups were better than those before intervention(all P<0.05).After 15 days of intervention, the total effective rate of nursing in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of traditional Chinese and western medicine nursing strategies in patients with neck and shoulder pain caused by cervical spondylotic radiculopathy has a certain therapeutic effect, which can reduce the intensity of pain, improve the cervical function, negative emotions, cervical spine range of motion, and nursing effectiveness.关键词
