Abstract
Objective To explore the effect of traditional Chinese medicine nursing technique auricular point pressing pill on postoperative gastrointestinal function in elderly patients undergoing abdominal surgery.Methods A total of 120 elderly patients who underwent abdominal surgery at Xuhui District Dahua Hospital from October 2020 to October 2022 were selected as the research subjects and randomly divided into a control group and a study group using the drawing method.The control group received routine nursing,while the study group received intervention with traditional Chinese medicine nursing techniques such as auricular point pressing pill based on routine nursing.The postoperative rehabilitation indicators,gastrointestinal function,traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores,quality of life and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results Compared with the control group,the study group had earlier recovery of bowel sounds,first anal evacuation,first defecation,first eating and first getting out of bed activity,shorter hospitalization time and lower overall incidence of adverse reactions(all P<0.05).At 2 weeks of intervention,the scores of the Gastrointestinal Symptom Rating Scale,various traditional Chinese medicine symptom scores,and Nottingham Health Profile scores in both groups decreased compared to before intervention(all P<0.05),and the above scores in the study group were lower than those in the control group(all P<0.05).Conclusion Implementing traditional Chinese medicine nursing techniques such as auricular point pressing pill for elderly patients undergoing abdominal surgery can accelerate the recovery process of their gastrointestinal function,improve their postoperative rehabilitation indicators,clinical symptoms and quality of life,and reduce the occurrence of adverse reactions.关键词
