Antimicrobial Activity of Molybdenum Disulfide-loaded Nanofilament Protein-chitosan Composite Membrane and Its Application in the Treatment of Burns

Abstract
Chlorogenic acid(CGA)-modified molybdenum disulfide(MoS2)nanoparticles were successfully synthesized and utilized these nanoparticles to develop a novel multifunctional silk fibroin(SF)-chitosan(CS)composite membrane.The aim was to evaluate its potential in terms of physical properties,antimicrobial activity,and promoting the healing of scald wounds.The MoS2 nanoparticles were synthesized by using a hydrothermal method and surface-modified with CGA to enhance their compatibility and crosslinking ability with chitosan and silk fibroin.Subsequently,the MoS2@CGA-CS/SF(MCCS)composite membrane formed through crosslinking underwent a series of physical and biological evaluations,demonstrating its superior performance.Basic characterization results indicated that MoS2 nanoparticles were uniformly distributed within the MCCS composite membrane,exhibiting a consistent diameter of approximately 150~200 nm.Comparatively,the composite membrane prepared by mixing and crosslinking at a ratio of 9:1 exhibited significantly superior air permeability and tensile strength compared to the individual CS or SF membranes.Furthermore,the MCCS composite membrane displayed a high photothermal conversion efficiency of 36.6%and,in antimicrobial performance tests,inhibited resistant Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus with inhibition rates above 90%.Vivo experiments utilizing a mouse scald wound model further confirmed the efficacy of the MCCS composite membrane in promoting wound healing.After 12 days of treatment,the scald wounds in mice were almost completely healed,demonstrating the significant role of the MCCS composite membrane in promoting the healing of scald wounds.In conclusion,the MCCS composite membrane not only exhibited outstanding physical properties and antimicrobial activity but also demonstrated great potential in promoting the healing of scald wounds,thereby proving its prospects for clinical application.关键词
