摘要

Abstract

The ultrafine-lamella-grained 304L stainless steel sheet was prepared by a multi-directional hot forging technique.The pitting corrosion behavior of the normal plane and transverse plane of the ultrafine-lamella-grained 304L stainless steel was studied by using a traditional three-electrode cell.The morphologies of the corrosion pits were characterized by using a three-dimensional contour profiler and SEM,which revealed the influence of the structural orientation on the pitting behavior of the ultrafine-lamella-grained 304L stainless steel in a 3.5 wt%NaCl solution.The experimental results showed that the pitting potential,corrosion potential,and corrosion current of the transverse plane of ultrafine-lamella-grained 304L stainless steel sheet are 293 mV,-117 mV and 1.0×10-7 A/cm2,respectively.This indicated an enhanced pitting corrosion resistance for the transverse plane of the ultrafine-lamella-grained 304L stainless steel,which was ascribed to the increase of the diffusion rate of Cr by the high-density grain boundaries.
