Abstract

[Objective]In order to investigate the quality of cashmere of Hetian sheep in Hetian area of Xinjiang.[Methods]The cashmere fineness,length,strength,color,gloss,clean wool rate,oil sweat and fiber type of 124 Hetian sheep in the main production area in Xinjiang were determined by relevant methods and standards,and the influence of body parts on the determination indexes was statistically analyzed.[Results]The results showed that the fiber fineness of Hetian sheep cashmere ranged from 16.18 to 23.76 μm,averaging 20.04 μm;the hand-arranging staple length ranged from 41 to 70 mm,averaging 53.20 mm;the length of single fiber ranged from 52 to 130 mm,mainly distributed in the range of 80.01 to 110.00 mm,with an average of 87.75mm.The cashmere content ranged from 25.91 to 69.38%,averaging 45.98%;the elasticity ranged from 2.7 to 5.21 kPa,averaging 3.76 kPa;the cashmere whiteness ranged from 67.14 to 71.47,averaging 69.73;the fat content was low,averaging 2.52%.The whiteness was relatively good without large span,which was better than some ordinary cashmere.[Conclusion]In addition to the characteristic of predominantly semi-coarse wool of Hetian sheep,its cashmere was of very good fineness and had a high value for textile processing.In the future,the breeding should be carried out in combination with the cashmere trait,and the wool yield should be increased while improving the wool quality.At the same time,the special semi-coarse wool of Hetian sheep should also be taken as the focus of its seed preservation,and the development and utilization of cashmere performance should be promoted.
