Abstract

Short spike cutting is currently the main method for tea tree propagation and seedling cultivation,but there are many factors that affect short spike cutting of tea trees.This study selected two tea cultivars of Wuniuzao and Yunkang 10 with short spike cuttings and took different cutting substrates for winter cutting experiments.Four different substrate ratios were set up,namely CK[yellow soil],T1[yellow soil:perlite:sugarcane bagasse=2∶1∶2,volume ratio],T2[yellow soil:perlite:sugarcane bagasse=2∶1∶4,volume ratio],T3[yellow soil:perlite:sugarcane bagasse=2∶1∶8,volume ratio],aiming to explore the effects of different substrate ratios on winter cutting seedling cultivation of different tea cultivars.The results showed that in addition to root vitality,the survival rate,rooting rate,root growth,and new shoot growth of the two tea cultivars were all ranked from high to low as follows:CK>T1>T3>T2.The root vitality of the short cut seedlings of Wuniuzao tea cultivars was the highest at T1,while the root vitality of the Yunkang 10 tea cultivars was the highest at T2.This indicates that T1 is suitable as the substrate for short cuttings of Wuniuzao,while T2 is suitable as the substrate for short cuttings of Yunkang 10.
