Occurrence Dynamics of Caloptilia theivora in Tea Garden of Ya'an and Control Effect of Sex Pheromone Traps

Abstract
During late February to late November of each year from 2019 to 2023,the occurrence dynamics of adults and larvae of Caloptilia theivora were monitoried by sex pheromone traps and leaf inspection methods in the tea gardens of three main tea varieties Mingshan Tezao 213,Fuding Dabai Cha and Mingshan Baihao 131 in Mingshan District,Ya'an City,Sichuan Province.The investigation was conducted once every 7 days,and an experiment on the control effect of sex pheromone traps on C.theivora was carried out in 2021.The investigation results found that Caloptilia theivora occurs 6 generations per year in the local tea gardens,and overwinters as pupae.Adults first appeared in late February and finally appeared in late November.The peak period of adults of overwintering generation emergence was from middle and late March to early and mid April,the first generation was from early and mid May to early June,the second generation was from late June to early July,the third generation was from late July to early and mid August,the fourth generation was from late August to early and mid of September,and the fifth generation was from late September to early and mid November.The larvae first appeared in mid March,with extremely low population in the first and second generations,and a significant increase in population after the fourth or fifth generation The larvae of Caloptilia theivora has two peak periods of occurrence from May to July and from September to October,which mainly damage summer and autumn tea.The application of sex pheromone has a control effect of 55.56%to 100%on the second to fifth generation larvae,with an average control effect of 75.92%.The application of sex pheromone can effectively monitor the occurrence dynamics of Caloptilia theivora and control their harm,which is suitable for popularization and application in a large area.关键词
