Abstract
Objective:To investigate the medication rule of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)external application in the treatment of acute ankle sprain based on data mining.Methods:CNKI,WANFANG DATA,and VIP were searched for articles on TCM external application in the treatment of acute ankle sprain published up to December 31,2023,and the articles and prescriptions meeting related criteria were identified.The TCM drugs were analyzed in terms of frequency of use,function,nature/taste/meridian entry,association rule,and cluster analysis.Results:A total of 185 valid articles were obtained,involving 180 prescriptions and 245 TCM drugs,and the top 5 drugs in terms of frequency of use were Rheum officinale,Carthamus tinctorius,frankincense,myrrh,and Angelica sinensis.The main functions of the drugs included activating blood and resolving stasis,dispelling wind-damp,and clearing heat.Most drugs were warm in nature,followed by those with a cold or neutral nature,and most drugs had a pungent,bitter,or sweet taste;they mainly entered the liver,spleen,heart,and kidney meridians.The association rule analysis obtained 19 drug combinations,and the top 5 drug combinations in terms of frequency of use were frankincense-myrrh,myrrh-frankincense,Angelica sinensis-Carthamus tinctorius,Fructus Gardeniae-Rheum offici-nale,and borneol-Rheum officinale.The cluster analysis obtained 4 drug clusters.The complex network analysis showed that frankincense and myrrh had the highest frequency of co-occurrence,followed by Carthamus tinctorius,Fructus Gardeniae,Angelica sinensis,Rheum officinale,and Phellodendri Chinensis Cortex.Conclusion:blood-acti-vating and stasis-resolving,wind-damp-dispelling,and heat-clearing drugs are mainly used in TCM external appli-cation for the treatment of acute ankle sprain,and syndrome differentiation-based treatment is performed based on the stage of sprain.This treatment method also follows the principles of emphasis on both tendon and bone and sim-ultaneous treatment of Qi and blood,which provides a reference for clinical diagnosis and treatment.关键词
