Abstract
At the 2024 International Energy Executive Forum,Daniel Yergin highlighted that the global oil and gas landscape is undergoing rapid transformation,driven by political maneuvering and escalating geopolitical tensions,including the Ukraine issue and evolving dynamics in the Middle East.According to him,oil has become more a political commodity.On the demand side,the most important changes come from China,where the rapid adoption of new energy alternatives and the expanding use of LNG are accelerating the timeline for peak oil demand.On the supply side,the U.S.shale revolution and the growing prominence of the Americas are driving a westward shift in global supply,posing significant challenges for OPEC+as it navigates this transition phase.LNG serves as a critical bridge in the global energy transition,and enhanced U.S.-China cooperation will further strengthen its role as a vital link.However,U.S.energy policies risk exacerbating the tension between traditional energy expansion and climate governance.By contrast,China is striving to balance energy security and a low-carbon transition through the development of a new energy system.As Yergin highlighted,energy security forms the foundation of the energy transition and must be pursued in tandem with robust global collaboration.关键词
