摘要
Abstract
The Northwestern China region boasts exceptional endowments of wind and solar energy resources.The region is accelerating the construction of large-scale wind and photovoltaic power generation bases,particularly in desert,Gobi,wilderness areas.However,the randomness,intermittency,and volatility of renewable energy pose great pressure on peak regulation and energy storage to the power system with high proportion of new energy power and the flexible and reliable base power supply is critical to ensure the stable operation of these energy bases as the installed capacity of wind and photovoltaic power continues to expand.Most large-scale wind-solar bases in the desert-Gobi-wilderness regions of Northwest China are located in areas with limited coal and water resources and the coal-fired power and hydropower are hard to undertake the important roles of energy storage and peak load regulation.However,the region is rich in natural gas reserves,which are easily transportable and storable and gas power with its such advantages as cleanliness,efficiency,flexibility,and cost-effectiveness,would be the best choice as the supporting power source for the development of large-scale wind-solar bases in desert-Gobi-wilderness regions.关键词
