XI Jianyuan's approach to treating primary cutaneous amyloidosis based on"wind,phlegm,stasis,and deficiency"

Abstract
Primary cutaneous amyloidosis(PCA)refers to a metabolic disease characterized by the deposition of amyloid protein in the dermis,which falls under the category of"stubborn tinea"(neurodermatitis)and"loose skin tinea"(psoriasis)in Chinese medicine.Professor XI Jianyuan has rich clinical experience in treating PCA.He proposes exploring the nature of the disease from four different pathogeneses of"wind,phlegm,stasis,and deficiency",and classifies it mainly into three patterns,namely,wind phlegm obstructing the meridians pattern,intertwined phlegm and blood stasis pattern,and blood deficiency-induced wind dryness pattern.In clinical practice,he employs treatment methods such as dispelling wind and unblocking the collaterals,dissolving phlegm and dispelling stasis,nourishing blood,and moistening dryness to alleviate itching and eliminate skin lesions,achieving remarkable clinical efficacy.A verified medical record is attached to share with fellow practitioners.关键词
