Mechanical Performance Finite Element Analysis of Rectangular CFDST Beams Subject to Pure Bending Load

Abstract
A new type of rectangular concrete-filled double-skin steel tubular(CFDST)beam was proposed.The inner tube is eccentrically placed on the tension side of the beam,effectively reducing the cross-sectional area of concrete in the tension zone,fully utilizing the characteristics of steel in tension and concrete compression.Using the finite element analysis software of ABAQUS,a finite element model of the CFSDT beam under bending load was established.Based on the finite element analysis method validated by experimental results from others,mechanism analysis and parameter analysis were conducted on the new composite beam,with varying parameters including the eccentricity of the inner tube,the hollowness ratio,the yield strength of the inner and outer tube,and the concrete strength.The analysis results show that,when the steel quantity,section height and width are consistent,the ultimate flexural load-carrying capacity of the CFDST beam with eccentrically placed inner tube is 1.6 to 2.1 times that of H-shaped steel beam and 2.3 to 2.6 times that of hollow steel tube beam,with better ductility.The larger the section height of the component,the greater proportion of the bending moment borne by the inner and outer steel tubes.The moment-deflection curve of the rectangular CFDST pure bending component can be roughly divided into the elastic stage,the elastic-plastic stage,and the strengthening stage.The beam with eccentrically placed inner tube exhibits better load-carrying capacity and ductility compared to the beam with concentrically placed inner tube.The yield strength of the inner and outer steel tubes and the compressive strength of the concrete are the main factors affecting the mechanical performance of the CFDST beam with eccentrically placed inner tube.Finally,a simplified formula for the flexural capacity of CFDST beams with eccentrically placed inner tube is proposed.关键词
