摘要

Abstract

[Objective]The study aims to investigate the dynamics and sustainability of vegetation on the southern slope of the Qilian Mountains and its driving factors,providing scientific evidence for ecological restoration and management in this region.[Methods]The MODIS Normalized Difference Vegetation Index(NDVI)dataset from 2001 to 2022 was used to characterize the vegetation changes.Slope trend analysis,geographic detector,and Hurst index were used to study the spatiotemporal variation and future sustainability of vegetation NDVI on the southern slope of the Qilian Mountains.[Results](1)Over the past 22 years,the vegetation NDVI of the Qilian Mountains showed a fluctuating increasing trend:significantly increased area(1.2×104 km2)>insignificantly increased area(1 132 km2)>significantly decreased area(8 347 km2)>insignificantly decreased area(2 424 km2)(p<0.05).(2)Geographic detection results showed that the interaction of influencing factors exhibited nonlinear and two-factor enhancements.The coupling of land surface temperature with altitude and air temperature was the direct controlling factor influencing NDVI change on the southern slope of the Qilian Mountains.71%of the factor combinations showed significant differences in their impacts on the spatial distribution of NDVI.(3)In the future,vegetation on the southern slope of the Qilian Mountains is expected to show sustained improvement,with areas of improvement accounting for 51.65%of the study area.Vegetation at altitudes above 3 400 m will mainly exhibit sustained improvement.[Conclusion]The vegetation ecosystem on the southern slopes of the Qilian Mountains is generally improving,and this trend is expected to continue.Surface temperature is the dominant factor affecting vegetation growth in this region.
