Abstract
Objective:To translate Epilepsy Anxiety Survey Instrument(EASI)and to test its reliability and validity.Methods:The EASI was translated and back-translated strictly following the Brislin translation principles,the original author was requested to review and the scale was cross-cultural adjusted.After pre-investigation,the Chinese version of EASI was formed.A total of 356 patients with epilepsy who visited the outpatients department of a tertiary grade A neurology hospital in Tianjin were selected as subjects from May to October 2023 by convenience sampling,and the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of EASI were evaluated.Results:The Chinese version of EASI consists of 18 items,divided into 4 dimensions(general anxiety symptom dimension,anticipatory anxiety dimension,epilepsy social phobia dimension,avoidance behavior).The item-level content validity index of the Chinese version of EASI were ranged from 0.833 to 1.000,and the scale-content validity index was 0.954.The cumulative variance contribution rate of the 4 common factors with eigenvalues greater than 1 extracted by exploratory factor analysis was 66.688%.Confirmatory factor analysis shows that the corrected model's χ2/v was 2.073,root mean square residual was 0.047,root mean square error of approximation was 0.072,goodness of fit index was 0.870,incremental fit index was 0.920,Tucker-Lewis index was 0.903,and comparatitive fit index was 0.919.The correlation coefficient between the total score of the Chinese version of EASI and the total score of the Chinese version of General Anxiety Disorder-7 was 0.853(P<0.001).The overall Cronbach's α coefficient of the Chinese version of EASI was 0.915,the split-half reliability was 0.880,and the test-retest reliability was 0.845.Conclusions:The Chinese version of EASI has good psychometric properties and can be used for the assessment of anxiety symptoms in patients with epilepsy in China.关键词
