A Study on China-ASEAN Climate Adaptation Governance Cooperation from the Perspective of Global Development Initiatives
摘要
Abstract
Both China and ASEAN are vulnerable to the negative impacts of climate change and lack govern-ance experience in climate adaptation,prompting them to jointly explore adaptation governance pathways.As a key player and promoter in global governance,China offers Global Development Initiative to be a new platform to deepen climate adaptation cooperation with ASEAN.The two sides are highly aligned in pursuing climate adaptation justice,strengthening the alignment of adaptation strategies and mechanisms,and bridg-ing the adaptation gap.Currently,their cooperation in climate adaptation governance integrates ecological and socio-economic dimensions,while facing challenges related to governance levels,policy coordination,adaptation financing,and geopolitical interactions.China and ASEAN should strengthen policy coordination,seek adaptation funding,balance adaptation governance with development,and manage geo-political aspects effectively to expand and enhance their cooperation in climate adaptation governance.关键词
