Abstract

Objective To compare application value of CT and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)in evaluating the severity of neonatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy.Methods A total of 150 neonates with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy were selected from March 2023 to March 2024 in People's Hospital of Mudan,Heze and were examined by CT and MRI,and the results were compared with the clinically confirmed results to analyze the accuracy of the examination.Results According to the classification of hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy,77 cases were mild,50 cases were moderate,and 23 cases were severe.The accuracy of MRI was 98.00%,higher than that of CT(92.00%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The mild detection rate of CT was 94.81%,which was lower than that of MRI(100.00%)(P<0.05).Compared with CT results,MRI had higher detection rates of subcortical abnormalities,deep white matter abnormalities,subdural and subarachnoid abnormalities,bilateral basal ganglia and thalamus abnormalities,and local brain edema(P<0.001).Conclusion Both CT and MRI are effective in evaluating the severity of neonatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy.MRI has higher accuracy and higher probability of detecting brain abnormalities,which can provide reference for the formulation of clinical treatment plan.
