Research on sum and difference beam synthesis method based on distributed conformal antenna arrays

Abstract
The distributed conformal antenna arrays can make full use of the effective aperture area of the carrier shape.Relying on the distributed conformal antenna arrays,the sum and difference beams can be realized,which has high application value in unmanned airborne radar navigation,target tracking and other aspects.Firstly,the element pattern obtained under the local coordinate system using electromagnetic full wave analysis is rotationally transformed to the global coordinate system,and the total field of the far area of the arrays is obtained by vector superposition based on the element pattern.Further,the weight of the excitation signal of each element is used as an optimization variable,and a genetic algorithm(GA)is used for amplitude weighting optimization,so as to achieve the low sidelobe synthesis of the sum and difference beams.By constructing 4×4×4 multiplane combined distributed conformal antenna arrays for experimental simulation,it is verified that the GA is effective in improving the low sidelobe level performance of sum and difference beams of this type of antenna arrays.At the same time,the electromagnetic full-wave analysis proves that it is feasible to superimpose the total field of the array with the antenna element pattern,which makes the selection of antenna elements more diversified and can better meet the application requirements of unmanned airborne radar.关键词
