Abstract
The rapid advancement of AI technology has compelled traditional connection-oriented radio access networks(RAN)to struggle in effectively meeting the computing and intelligent demands required for network intelligence and emerging services,such as interactive AI,vehicle-to-everything(V2X),and extended reality(XR).This paper first examined the diverse requirements for both AI for RAN and RAN for AI scenarios.Furthermore,we proposed a design methodology for communication and computing integrated networks(CCIN),detailing the design principles and system architecture.We explored enhancements to RAN functions and presented the logical architecture of the CCIN.Finally,a prototype experimental platform was developed,using XR services as the validation scenario to assess the effectiveness of CCIN.Experimental results demonstrated that the CCIN can significantly reduce end-to-end latency,improve computational efficiency,and exhibit distinct advantages in bitrate stability compared to traditional user equipment(UE)-cloud collaborative mode.The findings confirmed the effectiveness of the CCIN in supporting network intelligence and emerging services,serving as a technical reference for RAN evolution.关键词
