Abstract

Due to the limitation of domestic titanium ore grade and technical factors,the quality of domestic chlorinated titanium dioxide is rela-tively low.Therefore,the present situation and research progress of chlorinated titanium dioxide preparation were introduced from the chlorina-tion,vanadium removal and oxidation processes,and the advantages,disadvantages and development prospects were analyzed.Although the titani-um conversion rate of boiling chlorination is high,its process can not meet the application of domestic raw materials.Molten salt chlorination is suitable for high calcium magnesium titanium slag,but the waste discharge is large;The separation effect of aluminum powder vanadium removal agent is good,but there are potential safety hazards.Although the organic vanadium removal agent is safe,it is easy to stick to the wall,affecting the distillation effect;Titanium dioxide with good pigment performance can be produced by selecting appropriate mixing method,higher tempera-ture,shorter time,increasing particle size refiner and crystal form conversion agent in the oxidation process.In the future,the chlorination titani-um dioxide will be developed in the direction of adapting to high calcium magnesium slag in order to improve the chlorination activity and chlo-rination rate of TiO2.Vanadium removal agent will be used which is selecting safe,efficient and easy to treat.And oxidation furnace,oxidation process,and crystal conversion agent will be designed which are energy saving and environmental.
