The Influence of Metal Inorganic Salt Ions on the Stability of W/O Emulsion System

Abstract
Objective:This study aims to explore the influence of metal inorganic salt ions on the stability and moisturizing effect of water-in-oil(W/O)emulsion systems,providing theoretical support for the development of W/O type skin care products with excellent stability and signifi-cant moisturizing effects.Methods:Firstly,sodium chloride(NaCl),magnesium sulfate(MgSO4),calcium chloride(CaCl2),and potassium chloride(KCl)were respectively added to the basic formula of W/O emulsion for screening,and their effects on the appearance,viscosity,and stability of the emulsion were evaluated.Then,the effects of different concentrations(0.1%to 0.5%)on the stability of the emulsion,immedi-ate moisturizing effect,long lasting moisturizing effect,and transepidermal water loss(TEWL)were studied.Results:The study found that the addition of NaCl significantly improved the stability of the W/O emulsion,especially showing outstanding performance in heat resistance,cold re-sistance,and centrifugation experiments.Further research indicated that the W/O emulsion with 0.3%NaCl addition had the most excellent moisturizing effect.Conclusion:Metal inorganic salt ions have a significant impact on the stability and moisturizing effect of W/O emulsion sys-tems.Adding 0.3%NaCl can prepare W/O type skin care products with excellent stability and significant moisturizing effects.关键词
