Abstract
Objective:To understand the use of preservatives in cosmetics and provide regulatory recommendations.Methods:A statistical analysis was conducted on the usage,types,and frequency of preservatives in 1813 cosmetic samples collected from the 2023 supervision and sample testing in Guangdong Province.Results:The survey revealed that a total of 24 types of preservatives were used in the 1813 cosmetic samples,and the usage of compound preservatives was relatively common.The five most frequently used preservatives were phenoxyethanol,4-hydroxybenzoic acid and its salts and esters,benzoic acid and its salts and esters,Kathon CG and chlorphenesin,with usage frequencies of 42.20%,31.55%,11.69%,6.07%and 5.90%,respectively.Conclusion:It is necessary to establish relevant standard testing methods and strengthen the regulation of preservatives in cosmetics.关键词
