Abstract
Objective:To explore the correlation between hemoglobin A1c(HbA1c)and the equilibrium phase pancreatic iodine quantification parameters,iodine concentration(IC),normalized iodine concentration(NIC),extracellular volume fraction(ECVIC),using dual-energy CT(DECT),and to evaluate their feasibility in assessing diabetes severity.Methods:This retrospective study enrolled 168 patients undergoing abdominal three-phase DECT enhancement scans,categorized into non-diabetes(48 cases),pre-diabetes(45 cases),and diabetes(75 cases)groups.Pancreatic IC,NIC,and ECVIC were measured on iodine-based decomposition images(IDIs)during the equilibrium phase.Intergroup differences were compared,correlations between parameters(IC,NIC,ECVIC)and HbA1c were analyzed,and diagnostic performance for diabetes was assessed.Results:The diabetes group exhibited significantly higher pancreatic NIC and ECVIC than non-diabetes and pre-diabetes groups(all P<0.05),while IC showed no intergroup difference(P>0.05).HbA1c positively correlated with NIC and ECVIC in both the entire cohort and diabetes group(all P<0.05),but not with IC in any group(all P>0.05).For distinguishing non-diabetes from diabetes,ECVIC yielded AUCs of 0.753 for non-diabets and diabetes,and of 0.717 for pre-diabetes and diabetes,respectively,with no significant differences compared to NIC(AUCs of 0.704 and 0.708,both P>0.05).Conclusions:Pancreatic NIC and ECVIC correlate with HbA1c and may serve as potential imaging biomarkers for diabetes assessment.关键词
