Abstract

Sound radiation of the hull structure of an underwater vehicle caused by the engine vibration may lead to the easy detection of the vehicle.In order to control vibration transmission from the engine to the hull,a new type of active and passive vibration isolation supports was designed to replace the traditional flange support of the engine.The model of a vi-bration source-isolator-shell coupled system was established by the finite element method and used to analyze the character-istics of vibration transmission as well as the effectiveness of the adaptive control.A vibration source-isolation abutment-shell test system was constructed to verify the performance of the active and passive support in vibration transmission con-trol.The simulation and experimental results have demonstrated that the active and passive vibration isolation supports can suppress tonal vibration by at most 26 dB in the frequency band of 10-500 Hz.
