Abstract

In order to solve the vibration problem of the centrifugal pump pipelines,the finite element method was used to conduct fluid dynamics analysis of the pipeline and determine the installation position of the damper.Based on the discrete element method,a particle damper simulation model was established to study the changes of energy consumption of the damper under different particle sizes and filling rates,and the optimal particle parameters were determined.Based on the energy dissipation mechanism of particle damping,the number and shape of damper chambers were optimized to improve the particle motion state.The simulation results show that when 95%of 5mm particles are filled inside the damper,the ener-gy consumption is optimal.The high-density corrugated particle damper with five cavities can significantly raise the particle motion speed,enhance the friction and collision effect between particles and between particles and the damper wall.Com-pared with traditional particle dampers,the energy dissipation effect of this damper is more significant.Finally,a vibration reduction test bench for water pump pipelines was built,and the accuracy of simulation results were verified through experi-ments.This work has provided a reference for the application of particle dampers in practical engineering.
