Abstract
Knee osteoarthritis(KOA)is a disease with high incidence in middle-aged and elderly people,and has a tendency to be younger,it is manifested as knee pain,swelling,limited activity and even deformity,and the disability rate is high in the later stage of disease.The unclear pathogenesis and complex pathological changes of KOA make non-surgical treatment often difficult to achieve satisfactory results,and the end-stage often requires surgical treatment or even joint replacement.In the past 30 years,extracorporeal shock wave therapy(ESWT)has been widely used in the treatment of musculoskeletal ligament cartilage,animal experiments and clinical studies have shown that ESWT is a safe and effective non-invasive physical therapy,ESWT is beneficial to relieve the pain symptoms,improve joint function and delay the development of disease to a certain extent of KOA patients.In this paper,the mechanism of ESWT in the treatment of KOA,the best effective parameters of treatment,the safety of treatment,the evaluation criteria of curative effect,the comparison of the effectiveness of ESWT with other therapies and the combined treatment with other therapies are reviewed in order to provide better reference for clinical treatment.关键词
